Mini Music is an action-packed music workshop experience for babies, toddlers and young children aged 3 months to 5 years old. Tailored to suit the developmental needs of babies and toddlers, Mini Music classes are divided by age to ensure progression. We run our Toddler and Baby music classes in the National Concert Hall and at our dundrum school.

YOUR QUESTIONS

How many lessons are there? How long are they?

We book lessons in blocks of 16, one semester. We offer two semesters per academic year. Semester 1 runs September to January, and Semester 2 runs January to May. Lessons are typically 30 or 45 minutes long: 30 minutes up to grade 6, and 45 minutes from grade 6 onwards.

Are your teachers of a good standard?

We exclusively hire only the highest qualified teachers in Ireland. Our selection process is extensive. We encourage adaptability in our teachers' approach to lessons, prioritizing student engagement, assessing their needs, and tailoring lesson plans accordingly. Qualifications are displayed on mounted head-shots in our waiting room.

Do I have to do a separate Theory Class?

No, you do not. We integrate music theory within individual lessons, setting aside time each week to ensure comprehensive progress. If you’d like additional time for theory, we can accommodate. Please contact our office staff by phone or email.

Do I have to do Exams? What exams can I do?

No, exams are optional. However, we offer exams for all instruments through RIAM, Associated Board, Trinity College London, and Rockschool.

What are my payment options?

We offer multiple payment options: card, PayPal, cash, bank transfer, and monthly installments (available from September) via our Payments Page.

Do you offer Trial Lessons?

Unfortunately, due to our busy schedules and teachers' commitments, we do not offer trial lessons. We ask students to commit to at least one semester of 16 lessons. Latecomers must also commit to the remainder of the semester.

When can I start my Lessons?

Usually, you can start right away, depending on our schedule. Semesters run September to January and January to May, with no lessons typically offered in June, July, or August. Please check our Calendar Page for specific dates.

Can I do Junior Cert music as an extra subject with you?

Due to recent Department of Education changes, we no longer offer Junior Cert music as an extra subject.

Can I do the Leaving Cert as an extra subject with you?

Yes, we currently offer individual grinds for Leaving Cert music (30 or 45 minutes per week at our standard rates). Classes may be added at a later date. Please get in touch for details.

Can you change instrument or teacher?

If possible logistically, we are happy to facilitate a change. Please speak to our office, and we’ll work to find a solution.
